A progress history of transcribing a big Canadian city census from 1861, including my method and organization, and the social and geographical details of the area at that time.
Since posting this blog, someone did come up with the answer. At the time, unfortunately, I was too busy to report it to the blog. Now I am linking the people in St Andrew's Ward to Caverhill's Directory of 1859 and I have just found the entry. I can now alter George Beaty's occupation to "Secretary, Northern Railway", something that was in my notes all the time.
